This is a letter to you (I’m sorry it’s a day late after your birthday but we know how yesterday turned out – we got rocked by our incredible customers!).
I’m sitting here with tears of sheer joy to sit with the gravity of my emotions.
HOW DID I GET HERE?
HOW did I manage to snag the daughter lottery for my soul’s evolution?
HOW did I manage to birth a divinely grounded, loving, ‘old soul’ daughter like you.
HOW did you and I get here? …and HOW have we not killed each other? :))) (joking!!!)
HOW have we created this internationally recognized company?
HOW do we attract consistently the most AMAZING souls to work with us?
HOW did we make it onto National TV 14 times?
HOW did we become the #1 Tourist attraction for Burlington?
HOW did we get a National Best Selling cookbook?
HOW are we ranked #3 in the world for Cupcake Shops to Visit Before You Die?
HOW did we open Oakville so effortlessly and on time to swap out for Burlington? HOW???!!!
HOW did we make it through the ‘pandemic’, cancel culture and every other source of adversity – together?!
HOW are we so thrilled and grateful to work together every darn day?
(PURE DIVINTY).
The how, how, how’s, are sometimes overwhelming and mind-boggling for me.
How have we CREATED a life full of fire and passion and a life we absolutely love – together?
I know I’m the one out of the two of us that doesn’t hold back with my outward thoughts, opinions and my energy. LOL! Thank goodness for that! Thank goodness you are the peaceful and stoic, grit-infused leader and I am so grateful you hold space for me. With complete self-aware, I can actually intuitively feel your frequency waft through my soul to reflect on my life – teaching me to harness the goodness that is ever-present and amplify it outward.
Dear Erinn. You have made me a better person. You have loved me deeply and unconditionally and through all of life’s tumultuous times for me (including even 2 divorces), you have been my steadfast daughter who loves me beyond measure. I know this to be true. Through our personal growth and the internal push we both feel to be our most real and vulnerable and authentic selves, it has morphed and created the soul of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe. Our North Star has always been how to serve to humanity to the best and highest of our ability.
I know our latest chapter of our journey and losing our blessed heritage building (circa 1872) to a government funded development hurts like hell – but (you know) it is our job to move through it trusting our path on this epic adventure. We are not falling apart, we are in a rebirth. We are stepping into the unknown and there is real energetic excitement in this to let go and allow….
This part of my life I’ve been on with you for the last 13 years (in particular since Kelly’s opened), has been a journey beyond my wildest dreams and when I see life around me, I don’t really see others doing what we do. I am so grateful you chose ‘me and the cupcakes’ over any other path you could have taken. The world was anything you could have created yet, you chose me. What an honour. Our relationship has continued to deepen every moment of every day with the pure intentionality of what we create….knowing that nothing is random.
You have found your calling to LEAD. You have found your blessed & happy place in your soul and I have watched you bloom as I stepped back into my role as the President of your Fan Club. You have found your place in the world’s heart and I am so proud of all you do every day.
To the moon and back is not big enough for how much my love flows for you.
