I was compelled today to share my story of my sexual assault by a sexual predator when I was 12 years old.
It changed the course of my life.
As women, we are not alone and this ‘opening up and sharing’ is what is needed to bring the power of women together. We have stayed quiet for far too long and the strength within us has been smouldering for centuries.
We have hidden our scars for far too long.
We need to bring to light these assaults in our rape culture, including patriarchal oppression, and only then can we move forward by releasing our pain and shame and hatred for ourselves. Finding self-love and then finding forgiveness will help us heal and to be able to keep shining our light into this world. We need to drop the shame and embrace our beautifulness in all we are. #MeToo

With love – I’d love it if men and women would both comment on this post. As women, we need to hear that men are with us, that they are sorry, that they will spend the rest of their lives fiercely protecting our rights as human beings on this beautiful planet that we all share together. We have carried this burden of shame and suffering for far too long.
Sexual harassment and assault in the workplace are not just about Harvey Weinstein. We must change things in general. We must do better for women everywhere.

My heart goes out to all of us that have been hurt and perhaps the way through it all is to find forgiveness. Forgiveness to ourselves and forgiveness for those that don’t know better. XO

Thank you Keri. I’m so honoured to be a voice for young girls. I hope I can be more and continue to share the light on all of our inner strengths and values. This confidence and self-love is what is required to learn how to say, “No” and also simply be unafraid to be who we NEED to be and follow our hearts and our unique soul’s wishes.
