“8 years ago, the mother daughter team of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe, Kelly Childs and Erinn Weatherbie, took a brave stand and pioneered the first vegan and gluten-free café and bakery in Canada. This was a very big job to take on in Downtown Burlington. In those days, most thought they were crazy to bring a vegan business into this city core. For them however, this company was more than an initiative to make profit; it was about creating a brand to bring awareness to the necessity of kindness to all sentient beings, and to try to change our perspective and relationship with food…and it worked!

It has been an incredibly rewarding journey and to be recognized as one of the founding vegan establishments in Canada, and to also be ranked #3 on a bucket list of world-wide bakeries to visit before you die, Kelly and Erinn are more than grateful to be able to share this love with the planet every day. It is an absolute honour.
