Happy 50th Birthday to me!! My Surprise Party :)

What a SURPRISE it was!!! This was the invitation that everyone received!! Wow! Thank you to Ken (my creative genius) and everyone else who made this happen!!

They say happiness is a state of mind…For me, this was the “Real Deal”. I was overwhelmed with a happiness I had never felt before.

This ‘grateful’ post to my family is a little late as the party was September 18th but Ken and I decided to take off for a few days to Montreal right after the party. When we got home last Thursday, the businesses needed our attention and before you know it, 10 days have gone by. I’m so sorry!!

This note is for my wonderful husband Ken and my beautiful daughter Erinn and her dashing boyfriend, Mike. I still can’t believe what they did for me and totally blew my mind AWAY. Somehow they got together about 80+ of our closest friends, my loving family and wonderful customers. The sneaky three members of the “Surprise Birthday Planning Club” must have continually covered up their tracks for two months (as I was told by them) and successfully managed to pull off one of the BEST parties I have been to …..and it was MINE….ALL MINE.

They invited the famous Canadian Vegan Chef Doug McNish onboard to make his delicious raw vegan food (he has two incredible cookbooks), DJ Mike that had a custom playlist with all of my faves (and turned Kelly’s Bake Shoppe into a Nightclub!), and of course Mixologist (and Sommelier) Craig Mclean to mix up his crazy cocktails (“Kelly-Tinis” were his specialty that night). They also put together the MOST INCREDIBLE video tribute to me that had me fall apart to tears.

Thank you to everyone for coming and also sending me your wonderful wishes! Thank you for all your love and outpouring love and support crossing over this wonderful milestone. I’m so grateful to be able to have spent it with all of you.

I know I’ll be getting more pictures soon and will share when I get them.

Thank you Ken (my true love), Erinn (my BFF) and Mike (my son I never had). Your love and generous spirit just humbles me so deeply sometimes that I can’t grasp the full magnitude of it. Thank you for being patient with me. I love you all so much!

Here’s to turning 50! I can’t wait for 51! 🙂 Yippee!!! It’s time to hang on for the ride of MY life!!
